今日も昨日にもとトロについてのポスターの発表しました。たいてい日本語をたくさん話す時ちょっとしんぱいしますが、この発表はちがいました。よく練習しましたから、発表はよかったと思います。そして、トトロについてのはたのしくて、やさしい話すです。だから、私はノートカードをあまり作りませんでした。本当によかったですよ。

私の授業もほかの授業の発表もとてもよかったです。のぶながやみやざきやアンパンマンについての発表を聞きました。みんなはとても日本語を話すのは上手になりましたね。

アレクザンダーとブセファレス

アレクザンダーはマセドにアに生まれた、大王になりました。アレクザンダーについて一番のおもしろい話はブセファレスだと思います。ブセファレスはアレクザンダーの馬でした。

子供の時にアレクザンダーのお父さんは馬をもらいましたが、だれも乗られなかったです。でも、アレクザンダーはその馬がほしがっていましたから、お父さんとベットをしました。「ぼくはその馬に乗られたら、馬をくれます。」アレクザンダーはその馬に乗りましたから、アレクザンダーのお父さんはとてもびっくりました。その馬の名前はブセファレスです。次の写真はブセファレスとアレクザンダーです。



アレクザンダーの一番味方はブセファレスでした。いっしょうに色々な国に戦争をしに乗って、ブセファレスはアレクザンダーの一番好きな馬です。たくさんの人と言っていましたが、ブセファレスは神々のプレゼントみたいな馬です。とても強くて、あたまがいい馬からでした。この写真はアレクザンダーとブセファレスの道です。

マセドにアに帰った時ブセファレスは死にました。アレクザンダーはそばの町にブセファレスの名前をあげました。アレクザンダーは家に帰る前に落ち込むで死にました。

沖縄の獅子舞 「おきなわのししまい」

先年私は日本の授業で沖縄の獅子の発表をしました。今も昔もししゃが好きですから、今も書こうと思います。

「ししゃは何ですか」と思いますか。じゃ、私は説明します。ししゃの名前は時々同じだと思います。中国や韓国や日本にはほかの名前を使っていますから。ししゃはいぬとししの動物ですが、本当の動物じゃありません。下のしゃしんはししゃです。

これはとても古いししゃです。
このししゃはオフィスのそばだと思います。


ししゃはタイプが二つです。口を開けたししゃと口を開けないししゃがあります。口を開けたししゃは悪い鬼が大きらいですから、悪い鬼を家に入れられません。口を開けないししゃはいい鬼が大好きですから、いい鬼は家にのこせません。よくししゃは一人でいませんです。

このビデオは沖縄で獅子舞ですが、音楽はちょっとへんと思います。この獅子は全部ちゃいろいですが、沖縄の獅子は時々青い色や青い色です。



ししはリオンです。獅子舞はリオンのダンスです。

私の新しい猫

私はちょっといそがしし、私の生活はちょっとつまらないと思うし、私の猫を書いています。

じゃ、私の猫の名前はジェロムで、一歳です。ジェロムちゃんは尾がありませんから、とても面白い猫です。でも、夜の中でジェロムちゃんは「ニャアニャア」を言っていましたから、私はねめません。それはちょっと悪いですが、ジェロムちゃんはとてもかわいいですから、私は何でもありません。




ジェロムちゃんは一番の食べ物は猫の食べ物じゃありません。チェーズクラケルが大好きですが、あまり食べられません。

アメリカで有名な所

高校生の夏休みに私は科学のじゅぎょうと西に行って、色々なこうえんに行きました。だから、私はアメリカの一番の有名なこうえんはイェロストンと思います。イェロストンはモンタナにありますから、バーギニアからイェロストンまで車で七日ぐらいかかりました。ちょっと長い旅行ですが、とても楽しくて、あもしろかったです。



イェロストンで山にのぼったり、動物を見たり、色々なアウトドアをできます。私はたくさんのしゃしんをとっていましたが、私のカメラはちょっと悪いでしたから、このブログで私のしゃしんを使いませんです。



イェロストンでたくさんの動物がいます。たとえば、アメリカやぎゅうやおおかみやきついます。（アメリカやぎゅうはブファロです。その上のしゃしんを見てください。）私たちイェロストンでたくさんのエルコを見みましたから、その動物はちょっとつまらなかったです。

イェロストンの一番の有名な事はオルドフェイファルです。オルドフェイファルはアメリカの中に一番の大きいガイザーです。二十分に一回そのガイザーを噴火します。（噴火するはエルプトです。）　私はそれはとてもきれいでした。



最後に私はおんせんを話すつもりです。イェオストンでおんせんがありますが、使えません。そのおんせんはとても熱いで、しめます。だから、おんせんを見られますが、使えません。

私はイェロストンが好きですから、一日もう一度行きたいです。

新しい学期

まだ今学期が始めていましたね。先ず、さとう先生は「みなさんはどうして日本語を勉強」と聞きました。だから、私はそれを書くつもりです。

高校生の時に私の学校は日本語のじゅぎょうがあったし、母は「日本語はむずかしすぎる」と言っていたし、私は日本語をとりませんでした。日本語が好きと思いますから、私はちょっと悪いでしたが、バーギニア大学で外国語のじゅぎゅうをとなくてはいけませんから、二年生に日本語をとるになりました。

日本の文化や詞はたのしいと思います。たとえば、アメリカは過労死＊があるとおもいません。かなしいですが、おもしろいです。過労死です。

今学き

私は今学きはむずかしくて、たのしいと思います。たくさんのしゅくだいをしたり、友だちとおもしろいエベントに行ったりしました。たとえば、ワッシントンDCにさくらまつりに行きました。今日本語一年生のフィナルプロジェクトをしなくちゃいけません。

So far, we've worked really hard together to get it done for Monday. We decided to include video clips instead of just using still photos, so we've spent a lot of time filming and editing. Yesterday, honya-chan and me finished editing the final copy and recorded our vocal parts. I gave Andreano the CDs with the audio and the edited photos this morning, and he's going to finish dropping the audio and the still shots into the movie we have this weekend.

It's been really great working with honya-chan and Andreano - they're both very determined and want to get things done early. Plus, Andreano has access to all the good equipment that the newspaper here uses, so that's been really nice.

Filming in the car, however, was a little interesting. I think we have on film someone almost getting hit by a car - silly pedestrians - but that's not good footage to use for encouraging people to come here. (The pedestrian actually didn't get hit - though he did punch the passing car - and it wasn't us that almsot hit him. Honest.

I'm looking forward to presenting this, because it's going to be a nice relaxed class presentation where we actually get to see our final project. That, and it'll be the first time that honya-chan and I get to see the finished thing - so there might be some suprises.

The blog this semester has also been rather interesting. I feel like it's been hard commenting on classmates' blogs at times because everyone's busy so sometimes there aren't new entries to comment on. I also felt strange at times looking at other's blogs, especially if we knew structures they didn't and vice-versa.

I've enjoyed having the confidence boost of finding out that, unlike first semester, I can now pretty much write a real entry in Japanese. Sure, it's a little silly most of the time, but it's fun, too. It's also great to be able to comment and receive comments in different languages, because then you know that you're being understood whether its correct grammar or not. I suppose the more relaxed setting of the blog helps, too. There's more pressure to actually try and do things than there is to just get it done right and be safe.

Granted, at the same time, I know we're all making mistakes in our writing and that's difficult if they aren't caught. It's easy to just fall into the habit of using the wrong thing, and then it's difficult to break that habit. So, hopefully, none of us are doing things like that consistantly.

先週まつ

先週まつにはさくらまつりとたいこやことのパーファーマンスでしたので友だちと車で行きました。土曜日の早朝に友だちと会いましたので、金曜日に早くねなくちゃいけませんでした。それはちょっと大へんでしたが、私は大丈夫でした。ウアシントンDCまで二時間ぐらいかかりました。私たち車でとてもつまらでした。元気なおんがくがないんでしょう。さくらまつりでたくさんの食べ物の売てんやおみやげの売てんがありました。そして、たくさんの人がいました。たこやきとたいやきを食べたり、げいしゃをみたりしました。三時間半ぐらい家に帰りました。


それはたこやきです。たこやきはOctopus in Fried Ballsです。とてもおいしいです！

日曜日にたいこやことのコンサートでしたので、友だちと行きました。そのコンサートはきれいで、げんきでした。The group that did taiko drumming was called Nen Daiko, and they were amazing. The acoustics in the building were so wonderful - you could feel the music just as well as you could hear it. I was also surprised that so many of Nen Daiko's members were female - there were only two or three men in the whole group.

Speech... I hope

Alright... I'm really disappointed with my speech overall. I open the file, and I listen, and I realize - ho boy did I pronounce my major wrong. That's just... sad. And disappointing. Beyond that rather large mistake, I ended up with a strange accent through the whole thing because of my nerves. And I think I was trying too hard to not cough, which resulted in some funny noises when I paused. I'm not happy with the way I paused in mid-sentence over the particle 'を' either in the first paragraph.

However, I'm also happy that I didn't completely freeze this time as I did the first semester. I don't really have fears about speaking in front of people usually, but I suppose I'm not confident when it comes to speaking in Japanese in front of the class and not within the class, if that makes any sense. Also, memorizing the speech and having the notecards there just in case were a big help. Last time, I didn't have detailed enough notes on my notecards, so they weren't really helpful. I do think that I might have relied on them too heavily, even though I knew the speech pretty well, but I do remember looking up and being comfortable with what I was saying still at times.

Overall, I think I'm also happy with the grammar patterns and the flow of the speech. Last time, I had regrets about not using certain things or not having enough variation - and I feel like I got this this time around.

As far as questions go, well, I guess it was hard because my topic was hard. But I suppose if I could make up 水をエックズペリメント[Experiment]します then it couldn't have been but so bad.

二年前に、私は父とコズメルにデイビング「Scuba diving」をしに行ったことがあります。それはとてもたのしくて、おもしろかったです。そして、たくさんのさかなを見ました。うみにつかうカメラを持って行って、そのカメラでさかなのしゃしんをとったことがあります。

Swap Day

今週の水曜日に日本語のクラスはスウィチをしましたから、このエントリにそれはえい語で書くつもりです。

I was unable to go to another class between needing to eat lunch and having other classes, and in the future probably would be unable to easily switch except for on a Friday. However, our 10 o'clock class was much smaller than usual, which gave a great new opportunity to talk and have help. Maybe it was just the kaiwa for this chapter, but it also seemed a lot easier; perhaps because there wasn't as much pressure to hurry and say what you had to so someone else could say the same thing.

As far as meeting new people, unfortunately only two people from other sections came - and I already knew Julianna Smith from our Japanese class together last semester. However, Alex was very good at speaking and seemed nice. If we'd had more of an opportunity to swap classes later, I think it could be fun.

At the same time, however, I worry a bit about going into a class like ours where almost everyone knows everyone else. I think that maybe you'd feel like an outsider, and your comfort level might not be too high in that situation. But, that could also be a good thing because it gets you used to talking with different people in different situations.

I'd like to do the swap again sometime, even if I can't switch classes, if only because we got a smaller class size as a result.

つもりですか

ラーメン

コロンビア大学の学生ナネットさんはラーメンせたがやはとてもおいしかったと言っていました。でも、ナネットさんはラーメンせたがやは十一ドラーだと言っていました。ちょっと高いかったと思いますが、ラーメンはおいしいだと思います。チャーロッッビルはいいラーメンのレストランがありますか。しりませんが、私におしえてください。えと、ダウンタウンマールでいいダープリン「Dumpling」のレストランがありますよ。そうして、ダウンタウンでダープリンのレストランのそばにスシのレストランがありますが、私はぜんぜんいきません。だから、食べ物をしりません。みんなさんはそのレストランをしっていますか。高くて、おいしい食べ物がありますか。

今週のトピックはインツロヅクッシオンですから、はじめまして。でも、私は友だちに書きました。

本屋ちゃんは一しょに二セメスターの日本語のクラスをとっている友だちです。本屋ちゃんのブログはリリカルスパークですから、そのブログに行ってください。私は本屋ちゃんの高校生の時に日本語をとりませんでしたが、日本語をはなすのが上手だと思います。私は本屋ちゃんはたくさんアニメを見るからと思います。私は本屋ちゃんの一ばんすきな事はコンピューターをつかうと思います。それから、本屋ちゃんは「Art」を作るのが上手だと思います。

アメリカの会社員

今週のトピックはアメリカの会社員ですから、私の仕事をかいていります。ふゆ休みにハンキンスとアンダーシンでアルバイトがありました。五年間ぐらいこのアルバイトがありますから、私はアメリカの会社員をしっていると思います。

私の一ばんのオブサバーッシオン「observation」はアメリカの会社員はカっフィン「caffeine」がいると思います。会社員は毎日コーヒーとおちゃを飲みますから。アルバイトの時、私は男の人と女の人はコーヒーをたくさん飲みました。ちょっとこわいかったですよ。元気じゃないと思います。

二ばんのオブサバーッシオンはアメリカの会社員はたくさんひまな時があります。大ていみなさんは会社のホールではなして、コンピューターをつかりますから。時々みなさんは仕事をしりませんから、それはよくありませんよ。

でもアメリカの会社員はあまりストレッスがありませんから。だらか、新しい会社はどんな会社だと思いますか。いい会社ですか。

どんな食べものがすきですか

トピックはよくありませんが、はなしましょう！このポーストのトピックは新しい食べものです。えと。。。外国の食べものだと思います。


一ばん食べものはポッキ「pocky」です。私はポッキがすきですが、あまり食べません。


これはスタルフルット「starfruit」です。大きくありませんが小さくありません。私はスタルフリッとが大すきですが、リッチモンドのスパーで大ていスタルフルットがありますから。大へんですが、チャロッつビルのスパーでスタルフルットがありますから、大学にかいます。でもちょっと高いいです。


三ばんはリチ「lychee/litchi」です。リチもフルットで、小さい食べものです。リッチモンドに「fresh」リチを見ませんが、アジアのスパーに「canned」リチがあります。とてもおいしいです！

どんな外国の食べものがすきですか。どんな外国の食べものがすきじゃありませんか。

今日はおもしろくて、いそがしかったです。今日のあさ、かんきゅうか学と日本語のクラスがありました。それから、ともだちとダウンタウンマールにひろごはんを食べに行きました。食べものはよくくて、高くありません。私の時間はみじかかったですが、ひるごはんはとてもたのしかったです。母に会って、私のあたらしいアパートに行きました。アパートのへやを見ましたから。それから、母とくるまにのって、リチモンドにうちに帰りに行きました。二ばんこーひーを飲みましたから、今私は元気じゃあいません。でも、あした元気ですよ。

Reasoning: So, she's a fanatic religious prick who often gets mistaken as a man because she's knighted. She also leads a rather interesting organization out to destroy all supernatural creatures. But she has control over Alucard, and to have him as a dark guardian angel, well, that's worth the strange relationship. Plus, she has money, and could instill a good, strong sense of discipline and order that this family... lacks.


おばあさん(Mother's side): San (Mononoke-Hime)
Reasoning: When dealing with anime, you often run across the proclaimed 'fated couple', that are doomed in some form or another. San's stuck with her forest and her animals, and Ashitaka has the humans and the iron works to look after, but they're still madly in love. Nevermind that San's idea of fun is riding her step-brothers around the forest hunting and terrorizing the humans - of course, when your step-mother's a wolf goddess and your brothers are larger than oxen, you might get that. San has a strong personality and a great streak of loyalty to her ancestors and her forest. She understands things that the modern world tends to take for granted, and she would be an awesome person to go spend a week with during break. I wanna ride the giant wolfie down the mountain!


おじいさん (Mother's side): Ashitaka (Mononoke-Hime)
Reasoning: Strong-willed, charismatic, and deeply compassionate, Ashitaka's largest fault is trusting in the better nature of everyone despite his intimate knowledge of the darker side of humanity. He'd raise a family with a strong sense of morals, values, and the understanding that right and wrong is often grey.


父: Tatsuo Kusakabe (My Neighbor Totoro)
Runner-up: Bardock (DBZ) He was pretty much my only next choice. Really. But having a strict father that could see the future could have its advantages, right? I mean, he did kinda try to save the planet (failed, but... credit for trying?). And - he's a scientist! (*laughs for all the silliness there*)
Reasoning: Well, he takes good care (mostly) of his two daughters (so one of them runs off into the forest to be taken up by spirits - it all turns out to be good!). He cooks, he cleans, he works, he puts firewood in for the baths - sounds great to me. And he has good taste in houses. Beyond that, he cares deeply for his family and tries his best to keep everyone happy in what isn't the best situation.


母: Sophie (Howl's Moving Castle)
Runner-up: Wolf Goddess Moro (Mononoke-Hime) So, she's not human. But she's strong-willed and protective, especially of her human daughter. And she really is a great philospher. Well, she came in as great-grandmother, so that works.
Reasoning: Sophie finds the best in everyone and somehow brings that out. On top of that, she's a very persistant woman who expects a lot from those around her. She can keep house very well, and isn't a push-over when it comes to household chores and rules. At the same time, she's a gentle woman who would make a wondergul mother.


Step-Uncle Twice Removed: Nii Jienyi (Saiyuki)
Reasoning: So, every family has that black sheep that they don't like talking about. At least this black sheep is the kid who graduated with a PhD before he was seventeen, and grew up to be a twisted little freak with a stuffed bunny fetish and a coffee dependence. He's a genius though. My laptop problems would be no more! Presuming he didn't decide to use it to hack into the government network and launch nuclear warheads at random places across the globe to see how politics would react. Okay, so the whole 'capture random people for experiments' isn't good either, and neither is the 'pose as a therapist to run manipulation experiments'. Well, he is twice-removed. But he's a Buddhist monk and I could sit down over tea and coffee and have a very in-depth discussion about the human mind and its workings. Or the demon mind, I suppose, whichever suited our fancy.


あに: Hakkai (Saiyuki)
Reasoning: He cooks, he cleans, he's polite, he has an awesome pet that turns into a Jeep, he teaches, he's smart, he's patient - and he really likes looking after others. All fantastic factors. Ignoring the fact that he has a twin sister complex, a blood complex, a rain complex, and a, erm, certain water sprite 'complex'. Hakkai puts others before himself, sometimes to his own detriment, but he would definitely be someone to confide in and go to if there's ever any problem. Though hopefully said problem wouldn't lead him on a 1,000 demon killing spree...


Older Brother-in-Law: Gojyo (Saiyuki)
Reasoning: Gojyo and Hakkai are pretty much canon, and really, I'd love the water sprite as a brother. He may seem brash, arrogant, and he certainly smokes like a chimney and talks like a trashcan, but he does have good advice and a strong brotherly streak in him. Besides, Hakkai made him stop using beer cans as ash trays. And I'm sure Sophie wouldn't let him smoke in the house.


いもうと: Mikoto Minagi (Mai-HiME)
Under most situations, Mikoto is a rambunctious, hungry-driven teenager that is also attention-seeking like Toboe. The two of them would probably get into more trouble and back out of it just by being cute. Unlike Toboe, however, Mikoto can certainly take care of herself. She has a very strong over-protective streak in her, which seems to rather run in the family at this point, but would much rather continue to be the innocent little girl she really is.


おとうと: Toboe (Wolf's Rain)
Reasoning: So, he's a wolf. But he's cute and caring! He's a little whiny, and he needs a lot of attention, but he also has his strong points. Plus, he can totally chase those crows away from the trash cans you're trying to eat out of. After a few tries. Maybe. But, to be more serious, Toboe is a very compassionate young man, if a little shy and socially inept. He'd be one to roll around in the mud with (probably literally) and certainly would need to be comforted because he's the type to get teased, but who wouldn't want a little brother like him? Even Tsume likes him.

I guess it's easy to see that there are a few traits I really like in people, but that might be amplified simply by the fact that there are so many characters that I wouldn't want related to me in a million years, but that I love anyways.

私のふゆやすみ。。。

私のふゆやすみはとてもたのしくて、おもしろかったですよ。二十一日の十二月に私のたんじょうびですから。それから、クリスマスでした。ふゆやすみ、私のうちのリチモンドに行って、かぞくにあいました。えと。。。アルバイトがありました。ハンキンスとアンダーシンの会社につとめていました。せんふゆやすみハンキンスとアンダーシンにつとめていました。私のお父さんもつとめています。アルバイトがいましたから、今お金があります。よかったですよ！（もちろん、ね）

それから、「CPR」のクラスがありました。今「CPR」のセルタフィカッシオンがありますから。



クリスマスに「Outlaw Star」がありました。アニメですよ。つぎのポストに、「Outlaw Star」をはなします。
